Lack of vitamin D could be a common factor among people with a more severe picture of coronavirus that require hospitalization. This is confirmed by a new study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism of the Endocrine Society. Research reveals that 80% of 216 patients infected at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital in Santander suffered from a deficiency of this vitamin, with men presenting lower levels than women.
